Do you know anywhere suitable? Hunt is on for south Lincoln park and ride

Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said he is looking out for an area to use as a park and ride in the south of the city.

Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said he is looking out for an area to use as a park and ride in the south of the city.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the start of the £800,000 roadworks to pedestrianise Tentercroft Street, Matt Corrigan said that Lincoln BIG is currently looking at areas because the current park and ride at Waitrose is “steadily growing.”

The scheme was set up in February on Nettleham Road and recently reached its 10,000th customer.

“I’m looking at areas to the south of the city, if someone has a piece of land we would love to hear from them,” he added.

“We’ve looked at one or two sites but we need to find the right piece of land next to the right bus services as well.

“We need to find somewhere along an existing bus route, so if anyone has got any ideas we’d be pleased to hear from them.”

Corrigan also said that the park and ride is now seeing around 700 people a week use the system after a steady start and it will be running over the bank holiday weekend.
