Tickets are now on sale for the Lincoln Knights’ Auction at the Cathedral which takes place later next month.

The 36 knights from the popular trail will be auctioned on Saturday, September 30 from 6:45pm.

Members of the public and businesses will be able to bid for the horsemen that have protected the city since May.

Out of the money raised from the knights, two-thirds with go to the YMCA for a to help with their new project for the Nomad Trust with the other third going to the Art and Innovation fund for the City of Lincoln.

Tickets are priced at £15 each, which include a drink and canapés on arrival, and are available on the Visit Lincoln website.

The knights will stop guarding the streets on September 4 and will move to a free exhibit at Lincoln Castle from September 20 to September 27.

Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said: “The Lincoln Knights’ Trail is proving to be a fantastic centrepiece for the city’s 800th Anniversary of The Battle of Lincoln and the Sealing of the Charter of the Forest celebrations.

“The knights will soon face their most important test, so they will be going to a secret location to be spruced-up so that they will look their best when we bring them together at Lincoln Castle for their final reunion, prior to the exciting Lincoln Knights’ Auction in Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday, September 30.

“We hope that eager buyers will be ready to dig deep to ensure that they are successful in getting their favourite Knight – which they will be able to keep.”
