New bakery to move in Bailgate

Baking expansion: Cooplands will open their fifth bakery store in Lincoln, in the Bailgate.

Cooplands will open their fifth bakery store in Lincoln, in the Bailgate.

The firm already has four other shops in Lincoln, on the High Street, Sincil Street, at the Carlton Centre and at the Forum Shopping Centre in North Hykeham.

Chartered Surveyors Hodgson Elkington have secured the letting of the firm’s fifth city shop, at 88a in the Bailgate.

The shop was formerly occupied by Hillbillys Country Store, country clothing specialists who are switching their business model to online sales and country fairs.

Based in Doncaster, Cooplands has been trading since 1932 and operates a large number of shops across Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

Dan Race, Hodgson Elkington Partner, said: “We had very strong interest in the shop and were pleased to secure the letting to Cooplands for our clients. This brings another ‘household name’ to Bailgate and further underpins the area’s popularity as a retail location.”
