Four arrested in Portland Street murder investigation

Ongoing case: Three men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder of Latvian man Vasilijs Ransevs, who was found dead at his home on Portland Street.

Three men and a woman have been arrested in connection with the murder of Latvian man Vasilijs Ransevs, who was found dead at his home on Portland Street in Lincoln on June 16.

Lincolnshire Police arrested a 29-year-old man, a 31-year-old man, a 17-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man in connection with the incident.

Vasilijs Ransevs (33) was originally from Latvia. He had been living in Lincoln for about two years and lived in Peterborough before that.

He was found dead in a bedsit on Portland Street just before midday on Sunday, June 16. Post mortem analysis revealed he died of a head injury.

Lincolnshire Police Detective Superintendent Stuart Morrison said in a statement: “We are still appealing for information in this case and we would urge anyone who knows anything about Mr Ransevs and his death to get in touch with us as soon as possible.

“Local officers will be patrolling the Portland Street area and anyone with any concerns, or anyone who wants to pass on any information should approach them and talk to them.”
