The Weekend at the Asylum Steampunk festival returned to Lincoln for the fifth time for a retro-futurist extravaganza across the city.
Lincoln plays host every year to the biggest Steampunk festival in Europe and attracts participants from around the world.
The event is organised and run by the Victorian Steampunk Society, which is a voluntary not-for-profit organisation.
During the festival, people wearing fantasy neo-Victorian costumes, from top hats and flying goggles, to corset and flamboyant feathers, can be seen on the cobbled streets of uphill Lincoln.
Events include a Mad Hatter’s tea party and tea duelling competition, Lady Elsie’s fashion show and ‘hysterical dancing’, ‘whacky racing’ at Lincoln Castle, and the Bazaar Eclectica market in Castle Square.
