Lincoln nightclub star: A Lincoln nightclub is praising its Deputy Manager’s hard work after he was named number one in his field.

A Lincoln nightclub is praising its Deputy Manager’s hard work after he was named number one in his field at an annual award ceremony.

Steve Young (29), from Moka & Shack nightclub, was named the Northern Deputy Manager of the Year by the UK’s largest nightclub operator, The Luminar Group.

The company, which operates 53 nightclubs across the UK, held its annual awards ceremony to recognise its most outstanding performers.

The awards were hosted by Chief Executive Peter Marks at Whittlebury Hall, in Northamptonshire.

Steve, who is the deputy manager of Moka & Shack, and previously The Sugar Mill in Hull, was recognised for his contribution to the success of both clubs.

Moka & Shack in Lincoln’s relaunched after a £500,000 investment and employs 40 local people, attracting around 3,000 customers through its doors every week.

Steve has worked with Luminar for 10 years and started his career as a barman 20 years ago.

He said: “I am truly thrilled to have this recognition. I work with a great team and absolutely love my job that is all about giving people a fantastic night out.”

The Luminar Group’s Northern Regional Director Tony Gorbert said: “Steve is an outstanding manager, who demonstrates good leadership with his infectious enthusiasm and energy. He is a fantastic support and he has a bright future ahead of him.”
