Work to build 15 high spec student apartments and a ground floor commercial unit has started on Water Lane in Lincoln, and developers say the modern design will tidy up the area.
Jackson & Jackson Developments’ Water House project will contain nine kitchens, 13 bathrooms and 15 bedrooms. A commercial laundry area will be located on the ground floor and each kitchen and living area will contain a 50 inch wall-mounted TV.

The ground floor will also contain a glass-fronted commercial unit suited to office or shop use.
The unit has kitchen and toilet facilities fitted and offers 850 sq ft of space. Jackson and Jackson say bespoke layout designs are also available to early applicants.
Construction has begun with hoardings in place at the site behind the Primark store on Lincoln High Street.
Dominik Jackson of J&J said: “Water House is being built on an old car park which had fallen into pretty bad condition prior to us acquiring it and obtaining planning permission.
“The building is a very clean looking modern design and should help tidy up the street scene.
“We are using the same interior fit out firm that are working on our larger Gateway development which means the specification will be very high. Almost every room is en-suite and we’ve fitted as many kitchens as possible to create a relaxed living environment.

“The site team, headed by Andy Nattrass, are working hard to cause minimal disruption to the area, taking larger deliveries at the weekend/outside of business hours where possible.
“We’re working with local architects Stem on the design, local engineers Ward Cole on the structural details and local M&E consultants EBS on the mechanical and electrical specification.”
The agent representing the student rooms is Unity Lettings. A handful of rooms remain for an August 2015 move in and people can call 01522 220700 or email [email protected] for more information.
