Permission granted for new cricket pavilion and Lincoln Barons display

Approval: Applications for a new cricket pavilion and to display the 25 trailblazing barons in Lincoln over the summer have been approved by the city council.

Plans for a new cricket pavilion on West Common have been given the go-ahead by the City of Lincoln Council.

At a meeting of the city council’s planning committee, councillors voted in favour of the facility which will be used by Carholme and Rustons cricket clubs.

The new 6x6m pavilion would be on the slab of a former timber pavilion which burned down some time ago.

West Common is one of the most highly used areas leisure and recreation areas in the city, with the site sitting to the west of the tennis courts and bowling greens off Carholme Road.
