Get set! Thousands to take on Lincoln Half Marathon today

This story is over

Around 3,000 runners are limbering up for the Lincoln Half Marathon which takes place from 9.30am today.

There are a number of road closures to look out for along the route, which starts and finishes at the Lincolnshire Showground. To see the full list of closures, maps and more information, see our event guide here.

Runners have come from as far afield as America, Slovenia and Australia for the event, joining those from the UK and Lincolnshire.

The oldest person taking part is 88 and the youngest is 17, and some ambitious fundraisers will be taking on the 13.1 mile course in fancy dress.

Look out for Liam Peltell who’ll be running in Viking chainmail and Craig McMurrough in his Red Arrows costume.
