Work has started to turn a former Royal British Legion club in a Lincoln village into three cottages.

The club on Malt Kiln Lane in Waddington closed in November 2015 after opening in 1950 and has been vacant ever since. Planning permission has been secured by MC Builders (Lincoln) Ltd.

It is expected that the properties will go on the market next year.

Langleys Solicitors in Lincoln acted for Mark Cheetham, owner of MC Builders, in the purchase of the former club and site.

Mark said: “We will be developing a terrace of three cottages which will be in keeping with the rest of the village.

“The properties will feature wooden frame windows and be stone built and will further enhance Malt Kiln Lane.”
