Dramatic footage of RAF Typhoons destroying a building used by Islamic State has been released by the Ministry of Defence.

The Typhoons demolished a base which the terrorist organisation used for remotely piloted aerial vehicle operations in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul.

The video below shows the base being obliterated.

Islamic State used the base to arm drones with grenades to harass Iraqi troops and target refugees.

The building in south central Mosul was identified by Mosul as a base for the attacks.

A pair of RAF Typhoons then demolished the building with two Paveway IV guided bombs on January 12.

RAF Typhoons are based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire and RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland.
