The City of Lincoln Council has released a very interesting time lapse showing the full demolition of the former Lincoln Bus Station.

The video, published on the City of Lincoln Council’s YouTube Channel, shows  the demolition of the Lincoln Bus Station at Melville Street Lincoln, in preparation for the £30 million Lincoln Transport Hub project.

Watch as the former Lincoln Bus Station disappears before your eyes:

Contractors began to tear down the old structure on November 15, 2016, after an eight-week long archeological dig on the site.

They worked throughout the winter period to clear the path for the new hub, which will be completed in two phases.

The first phase will include a new bus station, shops and car park.

Construction of this is to be completed by January 2018.

Phase two of the project will see a new footbridge over the railway linking Tentercroft Street to Lincoln city centre.

Road closures on Norman Street, Oxford Street and St Mary’s Street will be in place for another year and a temporary bus station is being operated from Tentercroft Street.
