Pothole repairs will be carried out on the B1189 High Street in Walcott later this month, with the road to be closed throughout the works.

Failing sections of the carriageway are to be repaired ahead of surface dressing, with works starting on Monday, April 17 and expected to be completed on Thursday, April 20.

A signed diversion route will be put in place, directing traffic via the B1191, B1188, A153, B1189 and vice versa.

Local access will be maintained.

Mark Heaton, programme leader for surfacing and patching at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “We’ll be permanently repairing every pothole along the stretch of the road that runs through the village.

“We’ll need to close this route to make sure the work can be carried out safely, so there will be some disruption.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and advise motorists to allow extra time for their journeys.”
