Lincolnshire Police have warned that drivers are facing long delays after a second crash was reported in just a few hours on the A46 Lincoln bypass.

The collision, which is understood to involve a number of vehicles, happened between the Damon’s roundabout and the Skellingthorpe roundabout after 3pm on Monday, July 17.

At the time of publishing, the road is closed in both directions. Emergency services are on the scene.

Disruption is expected in the area for some time and traffic is already building.

It is not yet known if anyone has been injured as a result of the collision.

This follows an earlier crash involving two cars on the A46 between the Pennells and Whisby roundabouts.

Two drivers were taken to hospital following this incident. Their injuries are not being described as life threatening.
