As least two people are believed to have sustained potentially serious injuries after a crash involving several vehicles on the A46 Lincoln bypass.

A section of the A46 Lincoln bypass was closed for around four hours while emergency responders worked to aid casualties and clear the road.

As previously reported, the collision happened between the Damon’s roundabout and the Skellingthorpe roundabout at around 3.12pm on Monday, July 17.

A police spokesperson has said several vehicles were involved in the crash, details of which are still being obtained.

Two people have sustained potentially serious injuries.

Traffic is heavy in the area at the time of writing and motorists are being asked to seek alternative routes if possible.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is being asked to cal 101 quoting incident 290 of July 17.

It was the second crash on the bypass within just a few hours.

Two drivers were taken to hospital following an earlier incident between the Pennells and Whisby roundabouts. Their injuries are not being described as life threatening.
