They’re lovin it! New McDonald’s drive thru unanimously approved by councillors

Plans for the site have been approved.

Plans for a McDonald’s drive thru, filling station and truck stop between Boston and Spalding have been unanimously approved by councillors.

Proposals submitted by Lindum Group Ltd will now see the erection of a roadside service area land off Station Road at the A16/A17 Sutterton Roundabout.

Councillors on Boston Borough Council’s planning committee gave the green light to the development at a meeting on Monday, October 9.

The service area will include:

  • Truck stop with associated parking
  • Petrol filling station and sales kiosk
  • Coffee shop
  • Freestanding McDonald’s drive thru restaurant

The site is a 2.6 hectare (6.5 acres) agricultural field in the open countryside and is bounded by the A16 to the east, the A17 to the north at the point where these roads meet at the Sutterton roundabout.

The truck stop will provide 57 car parking spaces and is expected to bring 45 full time jobs to the local area.
