Man who escaped from North Sea Camp hands himself in to police

He is back in custody.

A man who absconded from North Sea Camp near Boston by jumping over a prison wall has been arrested after handing himself in to police.

Members of the public were told not to approach Peter McGlade, who escaped at around 6.10pm on Sunday, January 7.

Officers, a police drone, dog support unit and air support searched for McGlade, who was serving time for burglary.

However, around 48 hours after he escaped, McGlade made contact with Lincolnshire Police and handed himself in.

He was arrested near Bicker at around 7.30pm on Tuesday, January 9, and has been returned to custody.
