Man seriously injured after crash between car and two vans south of Spalding

A serious crash.

A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash between a car and two vans south of Spalding.

Lincolnshire Police have said that the crash happened at the junction of the A1175 and B1172 at Spalding Common shortly before 4.30pm on Tuesday, January 16.

The road was closed for nearly five hours, reopening at 9.15pm.

Emergency services attended and the car driver was taken to hospital in Peterborough with injuries described as serious.

Posting on the Spotted: Spalding Facebook page, Sally Chester said: “Paramedics spent an hour stabilising one gentleman. Badly fractured leg and some ‘complications’. Other drivers seemed OK. Emergency services brilliant.”

A police spokesperson added that the van drivers suffered minor injuries.
