This is why they’re replacing the Brayford Pool railings

The Environment Agency contracted the works.

The railings on the east side of Brayford Pool are being replaced with new safer fences, to prevent children from falling in.

Workers were today offloading and starting work on replacing the grey fencing on the Brayford Wharf East with black railings.

The old metal fencing had one horizontal safety bar across the middle, but the new railings have more narrowly spaced vertical bars.

The Environment Agency contracted the works, which are expected to be finished by the end of the week.
