Lincoln taxi company goes bust

Taxis are operating under a slightly different company name

Lincoln taxi firm Handsome Cabs (2011) Ltd has been made bankrupt, but will continue to trade.

The firm, which runs from 21/23 Clasketgate in Lincoln, was officially made insolvent on June 6.

On May 24, 2018, a petition was published on London Gazette stating the company had been presented with a High Court order and winding up request from HM Revenue and Customs on April 18.

Creditors of the company were then heard at the High Court in London on June 6, where insolvency was confirmed.

Trading as usual

Handsome Cabs told reporters the firm is now under new management and will continue trading from Handsome Cabs Ltd. No drivers have been affected by the change.

This comes after the firm was the first company in the city to introduce a ‘supercar taxi’, when it received a license for its 17-plate Lamborghini, valued between £200,000 to £250,000, in June 2017.

A spokesperson for Handsome Cabs confirmed that Handsome Cabs (2011) Lincoln Ltd ceased trading in November 2017 and was deemed insolvent as of June 6, 2018.

“A new company under new management began trading under the legal entity, Handsome Cabs ltd, in November 2017 also.

“All the drivers and staff remain the same and we are still open for business as usual,” they said,
