Lincoln shop earmarked for new dental practice

New Lincoln dental practice

A shop on Lincoln High Street will be turned into a new NHS dental practice if plans are approved by the city council.

Sleaford-based JDSP Dental Limited has been awarded a contract to provide NHS dental services in the city.

The company has outlined proposals to convert the former furniture shop on High Street, between the junction with Portland Street and Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

It was marked as a suitable, central location for new patients and accessible by public transport.

It’s one of four new Lincolnshire dentists’ contracts commissioned by NHS England (Central Midlands) in response to an assessment of dental needs in the county.

The new Lincoln practice will be joined by surgeries in Spalding, Sleaford and Boston, representing an investment of almost £3.4 million – almost £34 million over 10 years.

Together, they will treat an extra 40,000 patients a year.

The application will be considered by the city council at a later date.

Contracts come into effect from January 2019.
