Fourth planned escape rooms to open in Lincoln

Think that you can take on the challenge?

Grab your detective hat and get ready for a new escape room opening in the city centre – the fourth in the pipeline for the city.

Enigma Live Escape Rooms has been granted planning permission to open at the former Direct Cabs second floor premises on Silver Street.

Enigma has been handed the keys and will now begin renovating the building into four experience rooms.

Several jobs are expected to be created when the escape room opens in Lincoln early next year, close to the February half term.

It will open in a former taxi service call centre.

In each of the games, amateur sleuths will have an hour to escape before they are trapped inside – but can use limited life lines for clues.

Most of the escape rooms at their other sites have a success rate of around 50 percent so expect a real challenge.

They haven’t revealed the rooms themes just yet, but they already have puzzles based on escaping from a diamond heist, a hospital ward and from Alice in Wonderland.

Planning permission was granted by the council.

Each of the rooms are designed for two to six people and vary in price £13 to £20 per person depending on how many get involved.

The family run business already has a few popular sites in Retford, Doncaster, Sheffield and Wakefield.

Lincoln’s first visual reality and escape rooms business opened in 2016. Tension VR has just launched its sixth room.

Another escape rooms business is set to open above Hunters Fish and Chips on High Street at the end of this month. Plus, there’s a planned attraction opening near Lincoln College soon.
