Brexit voice of Lincoln: Deal or no deal?

“It’s like a Hull City supporter being asked to support Lincoln City”

As politicians continue to clash over Brexit, we have asked people in Lincoln what they make of Theresa May’s final deal proposals.

The debate seems to be as divided as ever, with senior politicians resigning over the deal.

But sometimes it is better to get out of the Westminster bubble and find out what people actually think.

In Lincoln, 56.9% of voters chose to leave the European Union and seemed to be divided by that decision.

But people on the High Street have told The Lincolnite that they are united…in thinking that the negotiations have turned sour.

Andy Dobbs, a remain supporter, said: “I think it’s going particularly badly to be honest with you.

“There doesn’t seem to be any organisation or agreement within members of the Cabinet.”

Carol Fuller, a leave supporter, said: “I love Theresa May. I think she’s done really well and that she’s a strong woman.

“But it must be very hard to get to the bottom of something that she doesn’t really believe in.

“It’s like someone from where I am as a Hull City supporter being asked to support Lincoln City.”
