Lincoln couple turn horse box into mobile bar

Neigh way! They’ve set up in a converted horse box

A husband and wife team from Lincoln have converted a horse box into a unique mobile bar.

Tim and Michelle Cook have been busy setting up their new business De-Canter over the past few months while working in their full-time jobs.

De-Canter is a cozy mobile bar in a converted horse box which stocks a variety of drinks available for weddings, festivals and private parties.

They had the idea to set up their own business when they were getting married and looking for something to get their guests involved.

It is based in a refurbished horse box.

“I stumbled across these mobile bars while looking for something a little more interactive and loved the idea,” Tim told The Lincolnite.

“We did some research into the concept and decided to set up our own shortly after the wedding.”

They started to set up the business earlier this year, but after sorting out paperwork, they are now in full gallop trying to spread the word.

Lots of different drinks are on offer.

De-Canter charge £300 to book for an event, then offer different packages ranging from a fully stocked bar giving out drinks to guests to simply hiring out of the mobile bar without any drinks.

Tim is now eager to get some events booked in. He said: “When we first started earlier in the year, I was just excited to get going.

“Now we have all of the paperwork finished, I really cannot wait to serve at our first event. I am really pleased with how it looks after three months of renovating.

They can stock any kind of drinks that the customer would like.

“My wife Michelle has been very supportive with the business, she has been doing all of the creative side like designing and creating our uniforms and the logo.

“I have been wanting to set up a business for a while now but I wasn’t sure what sort of business. It turned out that getting married was the spark.”
