A free Christmas meal for those in need

Here are the places offering food for the homeless and disadvantaged

Christmas is a time to come together a share love and generosity, but there are some places in Lincoln that are taking it a step further.

It is a difficult time of year to be on hard times, but there are a few places in the city willing to offer a free festive meal.

The Lincolnite has compiled a list of places around Lincoln that are hosting the homeless or disadvantaged.

Kicking off the festivities at St Swithin’s Community Centre from 12pm to 3pm on Friday, December 14 is the Lift project.

On Christmas Eve, the St Swithin’s Community Centre is hosting another meal from 12:30pm.

There are four places to get a meal on Christmas day welcoming families, the homeless and lonely:

  • Echo, can be found on Rosemary Lane from 12pm to 3pm.
  • The Salvation Army, 106-107 High Street, from 1pm.
  • Ignite Elim Church, at the Moorland Community Centre, from 1pm.
  • Sir Francis Hill Room, St Rumbold Street, from 11am to 3pm.
