Imps to face Everton in Premier League FA Cup trip

The tie will be played in early January

Lincoln City will face a crucial Emirates FA Cup tie after being drawn away against Premier League side Everton in the third round.

The Imps beat Northampton in round one before securing their passage into round three with a 2-0 home win over fellow League Two side Carlisle last weekend.

Danny Cowley’s men will travel to Goodison Park for their third round tie, which will be played at some point between January 4 to 7, 2019. The exact date is yet to be confirmed.

It will be the first time the Imps have played the Toffees in a competitive fixture since the teams faced off in the 1993 League Cup. After a two-legged goal fest, Lincoln lost that match 8-5 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Grimsby will also face Premier League opposition in the third round after they were drawn away at Crystal Palace.
