115 home plan submitted for Gainsborough

New homes planned for unused site

Plans have been submitted to build 115 new homes in Gainsborough in a move which the developer says would bring “high quality” housing to the town.

The proposal by Gleeson Homes would see the houses built on land off Middlefield Lane.

Under the plans lodged to West Lindsey District Council, a mixture of homes would be built.

A total of 29 two bedroom homes, 41 three bedroom semi-detached, 40 three-bedroom detached and five four bedroom houses would be built.

The developer said in their plans that the proposal aims to provide “high quality” homes for the town.

It said: “It has been considered that the proposals provide a high quality and attractive development and represent a significant opportunity to secure the positive development of a former unused, overgrown site at Dalton.

“Overall, careful thought has been given to the design, layout and massing of the proposed development.

“As such it is considered that the design of the proposal is appropriate, and it is our view that the new development will bring about considerable improvements over and above the existing situation.”
