Diamond ring thief assaults shop worker

A diamond ring thief assaulted a sales assistant as he fought to escape from the store.

Humberside Police were called to reports of a theft on Tuesday, January 15 at around 2.15pm in Grimsby.

The jewellery store in Freshney Place said the stolen 2.10 carat diamond and 18 carat gold ring was valued at £9,000.

It is believed that the man left in the direction of Bethlehem Street after he ran out of the store and assaulted the worker.

Fortunately the sales assistant wasn’t seriously hurt in the incident.
