Death of man found at nature reserve “unexplained”

The police investigation is ongoing

The death of a man whose body was found at a nature reserve in Scunthorpe is being treated as unexplained.

As previously reported, the body was found at a Ashby Ville Nature Reserve in Scunthorpe during the morning of Monday, February 4.

An investigation was launched to establish the circumstances of the death.

Police previously said this is not connected to a separate investigation of missing student Libby Squire in Hull.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “Officers attended Ashby Ville Nature Reserve yesterday, Monday, February 4, following reports that the body of a man had been found.

“His death is being treated as unexplained at this stage and enquiries are continuing.”
