Another man arrested in Grimsby rape investigation

CCTV images and a video were released by police

A third man has been arrested on suspicion of rape in connection with an alleged incident in Grimsby.

As previously reported, a woman was walking home shortly after midnight on Sunday, March 10 when she was approached from behind on Railway Street in Grimsby.

She then reported being raped by a man, described as around 5 feet 8 inches tall, of slim building and wearing a dark jacket and jeans.

Two men were previously arrested in connection with the attack. They were both were released on conditional bail.

A further man has now been arrested, but police were unable to give details of his age. He remains in custody at this time whilst police enquiries continue.

Police previously said specialist teams were supporting the victim. Patrols in the area were also increased.

CCTV appeal

Detectives investigating the reported rape released CCTV of a man the force wishes to identify. It is believed the man may have information that could assist with the investigation.

The force is also appealing for the driver of this taxi to get in touch as they may have seen something that could help with enquiries.
