Road blocked both ways after A17 Heckington crash

An air ambulance attended the scene

Emergency services rushed to a crash between a car and a lorry at Heckington this morning. It is causing severe delays.

The A17 is closed between the Holdingham Roundabout and Swinshead Bridge.

An eyewitness told Lincolnshire Reporter that there were two police cars, two fire engines, an air ambulance and two support cars at the scene.

A spokesperson for EMAS said: “We received a call at 9.19am on March 21 to the A17 near Heckington. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision between a car and a lorry.

“We have sent a paramedic in a car, a crewed ambulance and the air ambulance, and are currently on scene.”

The extent of any injuries is not yet known.

Reporters approached Lincolnshire Police for further information, but there was no reply by the time of publication.
