Thorntons downsizes to just one store in Lincoln

The Lincoln High Street store remains open

A Lincoln branch of a leading British chocolate brand has closed its doors for the final time.

Thorntons, located in the Cornhill area of Lincoln, closed on Saturday, March 16. However, the High Street store remains open as normal.

It is understood that six staff were employed at the Cornhill store. It is believed the company is looking to find them other employment opportunities where possible.

It is not yet clear if the closure is related to Lincolnshire Co-op’s £70 million regeneration of the Cornhill area.

The closure was announced on posters in the shop window of the Cornhill store, which said: “We’re sorry the store is closing. Saturday, March 16.

“You’ll find your favourites in our Lincoln High Street store. Always open at Thorntons.co.uk.
