Second arrest over Gainsborough assault

Armed police were deployed previously

A second man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault in Gainsborough which prompted an armed police response.

As previously reported, a man in his 20s was left with serious injuries after the incident on Scampton Way in Gainsborough at 10.43pm on Wednesday, March 27. The man was then sent to hospital for treatment.

Armed police were deployed to Ropery Road in Gainsborough during the afternoon of Thursday, March 28. A 21-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police confirmed on Monday, April 1 that a second man, aged 22, had been arrested in connection with this assault.

The previously arrested 21-year-old man has been released on police bail pending enquiries.
