Concerns as woman claims she was sexually assaulted before jumping in car

Detectives are carrying out enquiries

Police are searching for a woman who claimed she was sexually assaulted when she was found injured in Grimsby.

Detectives at Humberside Police said a person reported they found the woman injured on Weelsby Road in Grimsby at around 5am on Sunday, June 9.

It is understood that the woman said she had been sexually assaulted before getting into a grey Nissan Qashqai and being driven away.

Police are now trying to identify and find this woman.

Detective Inspector Kerry Bull said: “We received a third party report in the early hours of Sunday morning, about a woman, who was unknown to the caller, as she had concerns for her wellbeing after discovering her in the street.

“I appeal directly to her, the driver of the Nissan Qashqai, or anyone who knows who she is, to please get in touch by calling our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 131 of June 9, 2019.”
