Daredevil cyclist rides down Brayford footbridge

He likes a challenge

A man from a Lincoln village tried a daredevil stunt as he cycled down the Brayford Wharf footbridge.

Jason Hill, 31, from Heighington went out cycling on Friday, July 26 for around 22 miles.

During his trip he decided that he would try something a bit different – cycling down the Brayford footbridge, which he reached six miles in at around 10pm.

Jason sent video footage to The Lincolnite, which he first posted in the Facebook group ‘You’re probably from Lincoln if…’, showing him performing his ‘feat’ down the footbridge.

He said: “I cycle a lot and love challenges and being different and I thought, why not.”

The long-awaited footbridge finally opened on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 after a few delays and setbacks. Work initially began on the multi-million pound, 100 tonne structure in October 2018.

Some people previously compared the footbridge’s design to a dinosaur, a Venus flytrap and a mouth.
