Rac-cooling off: Paws to look at these cute animals enjoying the sun

The weather is proving too hot to handle for many, but some animals in the county found time to pose for the camera while keeping cool.

Temperatures have been soaring over the last few days with Thursday, July 25 believed to be the hottest day of the year so far, possibly ever, in the UK.

Raccoon Dog Ralph didn’t let it stop him chilling out in the paddling pool at Riseholme College.

Meerkats were captured on video loving a lollipop on the hottest day of the year at Woodside Wildlife Park in Newball near Langworth.

One of the cheeky meerkats was also pictured enjoying a frozen treat this week.

Temperatures spiked to 45 degrees celsius in the garden of a Lincolnshire man chilling in his hot tub with ice cold beers.

Elsewhere, at Messingham Zoo a nice wallow was made for the pigs to cool down in the hot weather.

Just made a nice wallow for a pigs so they can cool down, they're loving it! Dont forget if you've got animals at home make sure they've for plenty of water 🙂

The alpaca centre said “Camielle couldn’t hold on any longer so all alpacas are in the shed and the emergency fan is keeping them cool. Baby on the way.”
