Boston ex-model sentenced after a month on the run

He has finally had his day in court

A former Mr Boston model who sent a selfie to Lincolnshire Reporter because he didn’t like his police mugshot has finally faced punishment at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

Stephen Murphy, who also goes by Jr V Murphy, has spent the past month on the run taunting officers after he failed to turn up to Boston Magistrates’ Court.

He later promised reporters that he would hand himself into Boston Police Station on August 12, but it never happened.

The 33-year-old was eventually arrested by Lincolnshire Police in Boston on Tuesday morning, August 13.

Murphy was then taken to Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, which heard how he had damaged the cars of his former partner and her mother.

He also damaged a wheelie bin belonging to Boston Borough Council during the argument with his ex partner of 15 years.

Stephen Murphy was sentenced to two months suspended for two years, put on work probation and ordered to do 24 sessions of ‘building better relationships.’

Magistrates also ordered him to pay £61 in compensation for the damage caused to a Toyota Yaris and a Toyota Auris, as well as £620 in court costs.

Stephen Murphy previously told Lincolnshire Reporter: “I am ready to get the court case out of the way now.

He added he was trying to make amends after a family dispute.

“We are now in a better place but I’m still not able to go for walks with my daughter. That’s been the toughest part of all this.

“I think that it’s silly that my criminal damage case has been reported all over the world, but if you gave me the chance I’d do it ten more times just to get my baby back.”
