A Lincoln pizza takeaway has been given a one star food hygiene rating by council inspectors.
Pizza Roma, based on Macauley Drive, was told after an inspection on July 8 that it needed to make major improvements to get back their previous five star rating.
Improvement was deemed necessary in both the hygienic handling of food and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.
Major improvement was also needed for the management of food safety.
The manager, who did want to be named, insisted when asked by The Lincolnite that inspectors did not find any serious issues.
He said: “The inspectors will be coming back to make sure that everything is okay. I was on holiday at the time for three weeks but it will all be sorted soon.
“They found broken tiles on the floor which were are getting fixed and they also found a leak on our freezer which we’re also getting sorted.”
Pizza Roma has a five out of six star rating on Just Eat with over 600 reviews.
