Bracebridge Heath weekend roadworks extended to include one full week

A diversion route has been put in place

Drivers in Bracebridge Heath will now face more disruption after the weekend road closure on the A15 Sleaford Road was extended to a full week.

As previously reported, the A15 Sleaford Road closed for 14 weekends starting on Friday, September 6 to finish construction of an Eastern Bypass roundabout.

The closures will be in place from 7pm on Fridays until 6am on Mondays.

The weekend closure starting at 6.30pm on Friday, October 18 will now be extended until 6am on Friday, October 25.

This also means that the weekend closure between 7pm on October 25 until 6am on October 28 will no longer be needed.

The diversion route for this and all remaining weekend closures will be through Waddington via the A607 Lincoln Road, then on to the B1178 White Lane/Tower Lane at Harmston, and vice versa.

Councillor Richard Davies, Executive Member for Highways, said: “Over the past month and a half, we’ve successfully installed nearly all of the drainage and street-light ducting for the new Sleaford Road roundabout.

“This week-long closure, similar to the one at Lincoln Road this summer, will give Galliford Try the time necessary to lay asphalt and install the remaining kerbing for the roundabout, ahead of opening it up for people to drive on.

“We will do our absolute best to finish the works early so that Sleaford Road can be reopened sooner, and want to thank everyone for their continued patience.”
