Volunteers brave cold to clear Lincoln streets of rubbish

The group have been cleaning up the area for four year

A group of ten volunteers braved the cold over the weekend to clear Sincil Bank of rubbish.

They were unable to clean up Sincil Drain as normal because the recent heavy rainfall has meant that the water is running very high.

Despite that setback, the group went about clearing up several large bags of rubbish as well as children’s toys and a baby bath.

The litter picks have been ongoing for the last four years in the Sincil Bank area with over 100 individuals during that time.

All useable plastic bottles picked up will be and cleaned before they are converted into lanterns for the Sincil Bank Festival of Lights on Thursday, October 24.
