Watch three yobs throw fireworks in Lincoln boat before blaze

Some people have reported that a homeless man had been using the boat as a shelter before it went up in flames.

Three yobs were caught on camera throwing fireworks into a boat in Lincoln before a huge blaze took hold.

A security camera set up on a nearby boat captured two people on foot and one with a bicycle hanging around the boat on December 10.

One of the three throws what appears to be a firework inside as the other two film on their phones before smoke pours out of the boat and the yobs run away.

The footage was sent to The Lincolnite on December 13 and we have since passed it onto Lincolnshire Police.

Some people have reported that a homeless man had been using the boat as a shelter before it went up in flames.

A fireball wrecked through the boat on the Fossdyke moored up at Roman Wharf at around 2pm on December 10, prompting a large emergency response.

The fire service managed to put out the fire by 3pm and said that nobody was on the vessel at the time of the blaze.

Lincolnshire Police described the fire as intense and said that officers were treating the incident as arson.

The camera caught these three yobs.

A spokesperson said: “We received a report at 2.08pm that a canal boat was on fire.

“Officers and the Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene. The fire was described as intense.

“We are treating this as an offence of arson and are appealing for information that would help with our enquiries.”

There have been no arrests at the time of writing.

Anyone with information has been urged to call 101 and quote incident 260 of December 10.
