Homeless teen denies Lincoln sexual assaults

A trial date has been set

A teenager accused of sex attacks on women in Lincoln city centre is to face a jury trial later this year.

Christiopher Maynard, 19, of no fixed address pleaded not guilty to three charges when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, February 24.

Maynard is accused of attempted assault by penetration of a woman at around 6.30am on January 18 this year and sexual assault of another woman on the same day.

Both charges follow complaints made to police of women being sexually assaulted in the Tentercroft Street area of the city. Maynard also denied sexual assault of a third woman on July 26, 2019.

Additional patrols were previously put in place and the leading investigating officer at Lincolnshire Police warned women not to walk alone in the dark while the suspect was still on the loose.

Recorder Mark Watson adjourned the hearing for a trial due to start on August 10 and Maynard was remanded in custody.
