A man has died after a crash involving a lorry on the A16 near Lincolnshire yesterday evening.
The collision, which happened at around 8.26pm on Wednesday, February 12 at Newborough near Market Deeping, involved a HGV and a 21-year-old pedestrian.
Emergency services attended the scene, but despite their best efforts, the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was not injured and has not been arrested, Cambridgeshire Police said.
The road was initially closed, but has been reopened.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is being asked to call 101, quoting incident 458 of February 12.
Police added that they were not in a position to release further information until formal identification of the victim had taken place.
The tragic news comes just a week after a motorbike rider was killed on the same stretch of road.
Emergency services attended the scene on Friday, February 7, but the biker was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
