Pop idol winner Will Young heading to Lincoln

Tickets go on sale on February 21

Pop idol winner and gay activist Will Young has announced his first ever spoken word tour, including a date in Lincoln.

Will, who is also a Brit winner, actor, writer, wellbeing speaker and radio DJ, will talk about his life and experiences in his new show called ‘Show and Tell’ at nine UK venues including the New Theatre Royal Lincoln on September 23.

Standard tickets will go on sale at the venue at 10am on Friday, February 21, priced at £25. VIP tickets are also available priced at £45, which include the best seats and a goodie bag with a VIP tour laminate and a signed Will Young photograph.

For any mega fans there is also the option of a £75 Super VIP ticket. This includes a meet and greet with Will before the show, the best seats and the goodie bag with the VIP tour laminate and signed photograph.

The tour, which will also include the chance for audience questions, will follow the publication of his new book ‘To Be A Gay Man’.

The show will cover a variety of topics, from the evolution of pop to gay rights, and from wellbeing to Will’s funny moments during his 18-year career.

Will, who won the 2002 inaugural series of the ITV talent show Pop Idol, said: “I’m really looking forward to this. It’ll be a funny show and I’ll be talking about my career as well as looking at mental health, gay rights and much, much more.

“It’s a spoken word show – there’s no music – and I’m excited to be following the publication of my new book with nine UK dates.”

The show follows the success of Will’s latest album ‘Lexicon’. Will also holds the British record for the fastest-selling single by a male pop artists ever and has sold more than eight million records.
