Skellingthorpe Road to close in April

It will also impact some local bus services

Drivers in Lincoln will face a two-week road closure on the B1378 Skellingthorpe Road due to drainage works next month.

The road between The Junction and Tritton Road will be closed between April 4 to 19.

Lincolnshire County Council said the closure is required by developer Chestnut Homes to connect the sewer from the Westbrooke Road development, which will include 23 homes at the former site of Usher School, to the main sewer.

Disruption to bus services

The road closure will also cause disruption to some local bus routes.

Stagecoach said the roadworks will impact on services 6, 9 and 19.

  • Service 6 will run its normal route down Dixon Street, then divert via Tritton Road to Skellingthorpe Road where it will pick up its normal route
  • Service 9 will run its normal route then divert via Tritton Road to Dixon Street where it will pick up its normal route
  • Service 19 will run via Tritton Road on to its normal route all day

Skellingthorpe Road between The Junction and Tritton Road will not be served.
