Fantasy Island gradually re-opening from next week, but Butlins won’t open until July

Safety measures have been put in place

Fantasy Island will gradually re-open from next week, as it looks to adapt during the coronavirus lockdown, but the local branch of Butlins will stay closed until July.

The family attraction on Sea Lane in Ingoldmells, Skegness closed on March 22 in line with lockdown guidelines.

Fantasy Island’s Market will now be open to visitors from Wednesday, June 3. The market will remain free entry, but pets will not be allowed access to the market for the foreseeable future.

Visitors to the market must follow signage and floor markings whilst adhering to one-way systems and social distancing guidelines.

Fantasy Island added that the rides and attractions will open as soon as the government endorse this. Wristband ticket sales will be released over the coming weeks and all visitors must pre-book in advance.

The family attraction has also introduced some general operational changes including limiting capacity, increasing cleaning and disinfection procedures.

All employees will participate in extensive training on new procedures prior to the site re-opening, as well as having temperature checks daily.

Meanwhile, Butlin’s, which has a resort in Skegness, announced on May 13 that it was extending the closure of its resorts until July 2.
