Lincoln youths dice with death on level crossing

24 seconds from death

By Local Democracy Reporter

Two teenagers in Lincoln were caught on camera living dangerously as they evaded the barriers at the Station Road level crossing, missing the oncoming train by just 20 seconds.

On the busy Station Road in North Hykeham on Thursday afternoon, two teenagers threw caution into the wind and ignored the train signals as they crossed the tracks while the barriers were dropping.

Dashcam footage showed two youths on bicycles swerve in and out of the barriers in North Hykeham, blocking off the train tracks, just 24 seconds before a train rushed past.

Andy Esberger-Brown posted the video to North Hykeham Community Page on Facebook, saying: “24 seconds from death, silly boys!”
