Lincoln’s loss, Leeds, York and Nottingham’s gain: Locals travel around for their Christmas Market fix

Christmas markets in our wider region have been reporting high levels of footfall, as visitors ventured elsewhere for their festive fix in the absence of the Lincoln Christmas Market this year.

The Lincoln Christmas Market was cancelled for 2023 by the City of Lincoln Council, following concerns over safety and overcrowding, as last year’s festive event brought 320,000 visitors across the four days, 70,000 more than it could safely handle.
