Live screenings from Royal Opera House coming to Lincoln’s New Theatre Royal

It will also screen films.

The New Theatre Royal in Lincoln will be able to show online screenings from the Royal Opera House and a variety of films after a full cinema screen and sound system have been installed at the venue.

It comes after the venue on Clasketgate, which reopened in 2016, received a grant from the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub.

A live screening of Manon from the Royal Opera House will take place on May 3 priced at £17.50, with various other films and performances including The Greatest Showman and Swan Lake coming up at the venue.

Tickets can be purchased on the website or via the Box Office on 01522 519 999.

Business Development Manager Emma Olivier-Townrow said: “The screen is bringing amazing opportunities such as live streaming from the Royal Opera House presented to Lincolnshire audiences at a very affordable price.

“Plus, with the broad range of regular film screenings also at a significantly lower ticket price than other cinemas, we can enable every member of the family to enjoy daytime or evening entertainment.

“As part of our business plan we must increase day time activity significantly for the theatre to survive.

“With the screen we can also accommodate a wider and more extensive range of corporate hospitality, conferencing and lecture events, as the screen can be used for presentations and private hire screenings.”
