27 years service: Lincolnshire Police have promoted Heather Roach to Assistant Chief Constable, making her the first ever female Chief Officer in the county.

Lincolnshire Police have promoted Heather Roach to Assistant Chief Constable, making her the first ever female substantive Chief Officer in the county.

Heather Roach was the first ever female police officer from Lincolnshire to be selected for the Strategic Command Course operated by the national College of Policing.

Completing this course made her eligible for promotion to Chief Officer rank.

Assistant Chief Constable Heather Roach said she is excited about the challenges ahead: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been appointed.

“It is a real privilege to have served for the last 27 years with this force which is full of really talented people.

“The next few years will be challenging, but I am sure that we can continue to serve and protect our communities and I’m committed to doing just that.”

Chief Constable Neil Rhodes said he is delighted with the appointment: “I am very happy to welcome Heather as a permanent addition to the team.

“Heather is an incredibly hard-working person and a real asset to the Force.

“She is professional, committed and talented and Lincolnshire Police is lucky to have her,” he added.
